2nd place Middle Syndicate Enterprises

One of the businesses from Infinite Eight won 2nd place at the Middle Syndicate Enterprises! Their profit was only $1 short of the winning group! We are very proud of these kids and the rest of the children in Infinite Eight who worked really well together during our business venture.

Our Business Ventures

This term, the Middle Syndicate have been learning all about money and businesses! During the last few weeks of this term our classes were put into small business groups where we spent time working together to design and make products to sell at our very own market day. We even earnt a wage! Check out the photos of our business groups and some of our products.  We made Minion Rocks, Pet rocks (lady birds and hamsters), Bookmarks (frogs and kittens), superhero fridge magnets and popsicle stick puzzles.

This group is making frog and kitten bookmarks!
Look how consistent their products are! I bet they will be a hit at market day!

This group is busy making pet rocks. They have two designs - A ladybird and a hamster. This group has worked well to overcome some difficulties with product design issues and the fact that the paint takes ages to dry!
MINION ROCKS! This group has made purple and yellow minion rocks. Another challenging idea because of the time it takes for the paint to dry.
This group is an all-boy group who have worked exceptionally well to make superhero fridge magnets. They have made a whopping 59.  I can't wait to see how much profit this group makes! Look at this great team work!

Check out the incredible super hero fridge magnets!

These are the popsicle stick puzzles. There are two designs: a carrot and a blueberry.

Turbos, Turbos, Turrrrrboooos!

Today Infinite 8 was super excited to welcome Manawatu Turbos player, Nick Grogan, into our class. He read us a story and answered all of the our questions about life as a semi-professional rugby player. What an impressive range of questions asked by the children - no two questions were the same!

Teach the Teacher - Episode 5

This week James was employed to teach myself and the children how to play cricket. He dedicated his time to teaching us how to bowl and bat. We all really enjoyed James' lesson and loved how he gave all of us positive feedback. What a great lesson!
